Weight Training: Speed Trap Bar Dead-lift

·1 min read

This movement is the speed trap bar dead-lift. When done properly, this will train explosive power in the hip extensors, as well as isometric strength in the core and upper back. The set-up and range of motion should be exactly the same as the basic trap bar dead-lift. The only difference being that immediately upon contacting the ground with the weight, the athlete will reverse direction and accelerate the bar upwards as fast as possible.
